Blake just finished up playing 8th grade football. He is very athletic and enjoys playing a sport every season.

What does Lucy do at these games???

Why she gets one of the 13 year old girls to let her play with their cell phone....of course! From the first day we met Lucy she has known how to find her way around on a cell phone...it is obvious that someone in her SWI let her play on one, especially because she knows how to take pictures!

Today Lucy went to the salon to get her hair cut. She has fine hair and it was very uneven. I always thought of Chinese girls with thick, coarse, straight hair...well, my Chinese girl has fine hair, it is starting to thicken, but it is not straight, so it curls really well.

~This Face~

One year ago, this face took our breath away. We knew we were looking into the face of our daughter. Through every concern we researched and prayed about, we were given confirmation that she was meant to be ours.

Today, this face still takes our breath away...and we know for certain that she was chosen for us~

~Pumpkin Farm...Again~

We had to make one more trip to the Pumpkin Farm so the boys could get their pumpkins. We lucked out on another sunny day!

~My niece Makenna Riley and her Mommy just moved close to us from CA, so she got to come along with Grammy & Papa. What a blessing for Grammy to have all 5 of her grandchildren close by, and for me to share in the life of my Brother's beloved daughter~

I love this old barn in our neighborhood. The property is currently up for sale, so I thought I would take Lucy up there for "little photo shoot". These are the times I wish I knew more about photography AND had a better camera, but they are sweet just the same~

New Friends~

I mentioned we went to the Pumpkin Farm with our new friends, and wanted to do a special post just about them.

There have been many amazing blessings on this adoption journey and this is one of them. After we had commited to adopting Lucy and joined the Yahoo group from her SWI, I was given the name of a family that had sponsored Lucy's foster care for the short time she was in it. It turns out Joette, Hana and their family live just 30 min from our home! We have sinced emailed and Joette was able to provide us with a couple of pictures we had never seen of Lucy.

Joette and her family were meeting their FCC group at the Pumpkin Farm and invited us to come along, and to their home for us to visit. We had such a wonderful day together talking and sharing. It was so amazing for Joette to see the little girl in person that she had sponsored , prayed for, and hoped would have a family of her own one day.

Lucy at the Pumpkin Patch~

Lucy and I made a special trip to the Pumpkin Patch to spend time with our new friends!

Lucy has a little cold...so she wasn't quite her "smiley" self, but we still got some cute pictures~

We are taking Daddy and the "big" brothers this weekend to get their pumpkins!
